Here’s a special offer for any keen tea lover – the opportunity to grow your own tea at home.

All tea is made from the dried, processed leaves and buds of the Camellia Sinensis bush and Tregothnan is pleased to offer you the opportunity to buy the same plants as we use to grow our own tea on the estate in Cornwall.

The tea-producing bush has dark green, thick leaves and produces delicate white blossoms. The finest tea is made from the top two leaves and bud of each of the plant’s shoot. Using other plucked leaves from the sprig will produce a stronger, tasting brew.

About us

Rare plants have been nurtured by the same family at Tregothnan since 1334. The first tea was grown in the UK in 1999 to put the ‘English into English Tea’ and the most British tea in history was first sold in 2005.

Now, over 26 miles of tea bushes thrive in the unique microclimate, seven miles inland and with a deep-sea creek bringing regular fog. Manuka bushes have also thrived here since the 1880’s, the first grown outside of New Zealand and producing the most delicious honey.
