Bold, malty, and rich, this English Breakfast tea is made with the widest variety of tea leaves ever grown in England, then blended with the finest Assam to create a truly English Breakfast Tea. Each box contains 25 individually foil-wrapped tea bags, sealed for freshness.

The Tea Grown in Cornwall

Cornish Tea was first created as a new category when Tregothnan succeeded in growing the first tea in Cornwall in 1999. Tregothnan research and development continued the pioneering success with Camellias (the tea genus) first being grown in the UK here two centuries earlier. Long before Tregothnan filled its microclimate to become the largest tea plantation in Europe, we were dubbed the Cornish tea. The original 20th century research indicated that Tregothnan could produce the first Cornish tea and by definition, the first English tea and of course most British tea in history. A debate immediately ensued among our Cornish tea drinkers who claimed Tregothnan as the home of Cornish tea while the wider world of English tea drinkers also claimed Tregothnan as theirs! Internationally, English tea is famed and respected as a blend but until Tregothnan had grown tea here, no such thing as real English tea grown in England has existed. It was always clear to the Tregothnan team that we are a British brand proudly headquartered in Cornwall, owned by one family since 1334.

Ingredients

Up to 38 different varieties of Cornish Tea leaves grown in Tregothnan’s pioneering British tea gardens, are used to create this blend.  Our English tea leaves are then blended with Assam to create a delicious malty flavour.

Incredible English English Breakfast Tea

Love this tea, really saved me after an operation as could not drink other tea (from a supermarket). Had drank coffee before as helped with my condition. Drink it black no sugar so good tea is essential and this meets the mark. Can say the same for the green tea as well. Love the individual packs as travel often so very convenient. Worth the extra.

About us

Rare plants have been nurtured by the same family at Tregothnan since 1334. The first tea was grown in the UK in 1999 to put the ‘English into English Tea’ and the most British tea in history was first sold in 2005.

Now, over 26 miles of tea bushes thrive in the unique microclimate, seven miles inland and with a deep-sea creek bringing regular fog. Manuka bushes have also thrived here since the 1880’s, the first grown outside of New Zealand and producing the most delicious honey.
