Our strongest tea blend, our Great British Tea can be likened to a builders brew. Specially blended as part of the Governments GREAT initiative, this full bodied blend of Tregothnan leaves and Assam is made for export.

Ingredients

A blend of Tregothnan leaves grown in Cornwall and the finest Assam from India.

Brewing Instructions

To brew a cup of Great British Tea, use freshly boiled water cooled to approx. 95°C and infuse for two to four minutes. Our boldest tea can be drunk with milk.

The government’s GREAT initiative invites the world to trade with Britain and we export this quintessentially British tea globally.

The ultimate Tea Bag

Tried the loose tea and decided to try the bags as we establish we needed to filter our hard water first for the test results.

Best ever!

My sister gave me these tea bags and I have put off using them as I was resolutely a Yorkshire Tea fan. However, I couldn't leave the house this week (sick child) and my usual Yorkshire bags had run out, so I opened this box.....and boy am I glad! Firstly, let me say, I drink *a lot* of tea - and all different kinds, black, green, Earl Grey, Jasmine, lemon & ginger. I like bags and loose leaf. I have tea pots and infusers. I have a special mug from Burleigh that I like to drink from and a kettle that brews to 4 different temperatures.. Any way, I digress. This tea is worth every penny. I followed the instructions precisely and I drank it with milk. It was like a comforting hug - strong enough to give a lovely flavour, but not so overpowering that you feel your teeth protesting. I feel like an expert crafted this blend and I would like to shake their hand. Thank you for this tea, it's incredible!

About us

Rare plants have been nurtured by the same family at Tregothnan since 1334. The first tea was grown in the UK in 1999 to put the ‘English into English Tea’ and the most British tea in history was first sold in 2005.

Now, over 26 miles of tea bushes thrive in the unique microclimate, seven miles inland and with a deep-sea creek bringing regular fog. Manuka bushes have also thrived here since the 1880’s, the first grown outside of New Zealand and producing the most delicious honey.
