Our famous Earl Grey tea is one of our signature blends, using only the best bergamot oil – pure and natural oil from bergamot orchards in Calabria, Italy. Our homegrown leaves are blended with the best Assam and subtly infused with bergamot oil. Selected for our new, luxury caddy box and sleeve, our Earl Grey is made famous by Tregothnan’s family connection to Sir Charles Grey, the pioneer of this fine English brew.

Ingredients

A premium blend of Cornish tea from Tregothnan, the finest Assam from India, and natural Citrus Bergamia oil. This tea is dairy-free, gluten-free, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans

Brewing instruction

To brew a cup of the best Earl Grey tea, use freshly boiled water which has been left to cool to approximately 90ºc, to avoid the tea leaves from being scorched with overly hot water. We recommend three to four minutes of steeping time for the perfect, invigorating Earl Grey brew.

About us

Rare plants have been nurtured by the same family at Tregothnan since 1334. The first tea was grown in the UK in 1999 to put the ‘English into English Tea’ and the most British tea in history was first sold in 2005.

Now, over 26 miles of tea bushes thrive in the unique microclimate, seven miles inland and with a deep-sea creek bringing regular fog. Manuka bushes have also thrived here since the 1880’s, the first grown outside of New Zealand and producing the most delicious honey.
