The first ever tea produced on British soil, our Classic Tea is our longest-serving and best-loved tea blend. It was first harvested from our tea gardens in Cornwall in 2005. A quintessentially English tea recipe, our Classic Tea is blended with premium Assam leaves to give it the bold flavour synonymous with a strong, classic English tea.

Ingredients

A delicious blend of hand-plucked Cornish Tea from Tregothnan and the finest Assam Tea from India. This tea is dairy-free, gluten-free, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Brewing instructions

Use filtered or bottled water just off the boil, and brew for 3-4 minutes. Whole leaves take a little longer to brew, but the short wait is well worth it. Classic Tea can be served with or without milk and sweetened with honey or sugar to taste. Classic Tea is the first-ever tea produced on British soil in 2005, which makes it our longest-serving tea blend.

Brewing the Perfect Cup

Use 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea

Water 95ºc

3-4 mins

Can be served with or without milk and sweetened with honey or sugar to taste

Fresh taste

Nothing like a nice pot of loose Leaf tea.
The Tea is great but it is a bit punchy on the price, I guess British producers are like that now days.
Will I order again, will see when I run out I guess..

About us

Rare plants have been nurtured by the same family at Tregothnan since 1334. The first tea was grown in the UK in 1999 to put the ‘English into English Tea’ and the most British tea in history was first sold in 2005.

Now, over 26 miles of tea bushes thrive in the unique microclimate, seven miles inland and with a deep-sea creek bringing regular fog. Manuka bushes have also thrived here since the 1880’s, the first grown outside of New Zealand and producing the most delicious honey.
