A selection of home made cakes entered into Tregothnans Great British Christmas Bake Off

Tregothnan’s Great British Christmas Bake Off

Today was a great day in the calendar of events at Tregothnan, in fact today was a Great British Bake Off day! The staff at Tregothnan are often partial to a cake or two and many are also budding bakers. So we decided to hold a mini Bake Off style competition in the name of Christmas festivities (and a great excuse to eat at least ten cakes in one sitting).

The array of cakes was as mouthwatering including a Red Velvet cake

Bakers from teams across the whole Estate donned their Bake off pinnies to create their masterpieces, including Zoe from the house team, Terry from the woods team, Claire, Sue, Simon and Adam from the estate team and Bella, Martin and Julie from the trading team.

The array of cakes was as mouthwatering as any display in a French Patisserie and among the bakes were a Sugared Pecan cake, Red Velvet cake, Cranberry and Orange cake, Seville Orange cake, Chocolate Yule Log, Chocolate Marzipan Biscuits, Chocolate Christmas Baileys Brownies and a Chocolate Kit Kat cake.

The judging process gathered staff from all over the Estate as news of the bakes reached even the furthest corners of Tregothnan. Every person cast their vote and Sue from the Estate team was victorious with her moist and delicious Cranberry and Orange cake. It looked every bit as incredible as it tasted.

Now…what to do with all the leftover cake…?
