GIFT-SINCOL

For the first time ever, we’ve created the ultimate Single Estate tea gift set with both Single Estate Black Tea and Single Estate Green Tea caddies. Presented in a stylish, grey gift box, this Single Estate collection gift set is one of the most precious and rare gifts you could lavish on your friends or family. These rare teas are made purely from Camellia sinensis leaves from the Tregothnan estate.

Ingredients

Single Estate Black Tea: made purely of English Black tea leaves from the Tregothnan estate in Cornwall.

Brewing instructions

Single Estate Black Tea: infuse at 80ºc in filtered or naturally soft water. No milk or other additions required to taste but this tea is incredible, adaptable and complements a great range of other ingredients in the cup if you wish to experiment. Tregothnan honey is a particular favourite. Re-infuse the leaves as many times as you choose, the record is 12 infusions, equating to 12 cups of tea from 3 grams.
Single estate Green Tea: fill your kettle with soft or filtered water. Boil, then leave to cool to approximately 85ºc. Re-infuse the leaves with soft water to make up to 20 cups from 11g.

The first pure English Tea

Many of the tea bushes now producing the finest teas made their way from China in the 1840s via Darjeeling, finally reaching Tregothnan in 1999. After six years of growth and development, we were able to produce the first commercial tea grown on English soil in 2005.
The soils and temperatures at Tregothnan have become a second home to much of the flora associated with tea in Darjeeling and some aficionados note muscatel notes and even Magnolia florals from the famous Magnolia campbellii. The UK’s first outdoor ornamental Camellias are vibrantly approaching their fourth century and grow all around these tea bushes, a testament to the truly unique Tregothnan microclimate.

About us

Rare plants have been nurtured by the same family at Tregothnan since 1334. The first tea was grown in the UK in 1999 to put the ‘English into English Tea’ and the most British tea in history was first sold in 2005.

Now, over 26 miles of tea bushes thrive in the unique microclimate, seven miles inland and with a deep-sea creek bringing regular fog. Manuka bushes have also thrived here since the 1880’s, the first grown outside of New Zealand and producing the most delicious honey.
