Ginger Mint – 7g pouch

The mini 7g pouch is just right for a teapot for sharing or two smaller pots. Ginger Mint is a warming, full bodied mint which has hints of subtly spiced ginger giving a round smoothness to the mint flavour. Pure mint leaves are selected for their gingery undertones and dried in cool temperatures to retain the maximum amount of the oils which give the pure strength of flavour.

What is Cold Cured Tea?

The pioneering process of cold cured tea leaves starts with the same method of plucking, withering, rolling and oxidising associated that tea producers have used for centuries. The differing factor for cold cure teas comes in the drying stage of processing. Instead of drying the leaf in a warming oven, the tea leaves are dried in cold air, capturing the most sensitive and volatile oils at in the leaf. Any amount of heat applied at this stage can evaporate the leaf’s natural oils which can lead to deadening of flavour. The dramatic difference between cold cured Tregothnan herbal teas and standard temperature cured tea is immediately apparent in the striking aroma and explosion of flavour in the cup.

Another world first for Tregothnan.

Harder than it sounds, this is the first time this type of processing has succeeded. Cold cure Tregothnan herbal teas are the product of decades of experimentation and experience of careful growing and processing conditions. At least 95% of the natural moisture in the leaves must be extracted to be sufficiently dried. Cold curing must be done in a controlled environment to emulate as closely as possible natural air drying. The end result is the greatest retention of the light aromatic oils than in any other herbal tea.
