Forestry and Woodland Manager
Terry joined Tregothnan in the summer of 2014 as the Forestry and Woodland Manager, responsible for all the woodland across the estate, the running of the woods teams and contractors associated with their management. The key aim being to ensure that Tregothnan is known for quality sustainable woodland management while integrating sound, considered environmental management to showcase Tregothnan as an exemplar of best practice across all that we do. Furthermore he has to ensure the constant improvement in the quality of the standing timber across the estate, both now and into the future, as well as developing markets and ways of working, ensuring the integration of the woodland management into the wider landscape of the estate and adjoining land holdings.
As a Chartered Forester Terry’s knowledge is drawn from a long career in woodland and environmental management, covering all aspects of work having started on the “tools” as they say, and moved up through the varying levels of management and responsibility, with experience ranging from the management of large client woodland portfolios and environmental contracts as a consultant, to developing and encouraging staff and contractors to ensure that there is a skilled workforce for the future, which is key to the long term success of woodland and environmental management.
