Farming & Agriculture

Farming and agriculture has been at the heart of the Estate for hundreds of years.

We aim through our farming practices to be environmentally responsible and this has been celebrated by our recent win of the European Land Owners Award for sustainable farming practices, innovation and leadership.

The Estate comprises of tenanted farms, smallholdings and in-hand farms. Our tenant farms range in size and type from dairy/mixed units to stock farms with horse livery, canine services and farm shops. Many of our tenants undertake some innovative and exciting farming including the country’s leading strawberry grower and a specialist, highly skilled propagation farm.

On the Estate we believe that farming is the foundation of the UK’s food and drink industry and we are committed to supporting agriculture to secure the long term prosperity of the farming community. This commitment is wide ranging and includes actively supporting local farming charities and organisations such as The Farming Community Network and Cornwall Farmers.
