A light, exotic and delicate blend of Darjeeling and Tregothnan leaves. A quintessential afternoon tea blend perfect with a scone and cream.

A light and exotic blend of homegrown hand-plucked leaves from our Cornish estate with the finest Darjeeling tea leaves from the gardens of India. This tea is dairy-free, gluten-free, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Brewing Instructions

To brew a cup of uplifting Afternoon Tea, use freshly boiled water cooled to approx. 85°c  and infuse for 2 to 4 minutes. This tea can be overwhelmed by milk so try it black first!

Time for tea

We think our Afternoon Tea is best savoured around 3 pm (with a Cornish cream tea, of course!) – but it is equally as delicious at any time of the day. How true these words from Henry James are: “There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea” – Portrait of a Lady.

Brewing the Perfect Cup

Use 1 tea bag

Water 85°c

About us

Rare plants have been nurtured by the same family at Tregothnan since 1334. The first tea was grown in the UK in 1999 to put the ‘English into English Tea’ and the most British tea in history was first sold in 2005.

Now, over 26 miles of tea bushes thrive in the unique microclimate, seven miles inland and with a deep-sea creek bringing regular fog. Manuka bushes have also thrived here since the 1880’s, the first grown outside of New Zealand and producing the most delicious honey.
