Tregothnan wins Anders Wall European Landowners Award for ‘Bees, Trees and Teas’ pitch

We are pleased to announce we are the delighted recipients of the prestigious Anders Wall Award for best countryside in Europe.

Anders Wall Foundation from Stockholm in association with the European Commission, Directorate General for the Environment, Brussels, the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry and the “Friends of the Countryside”, has decided to introduce an award for individuals who have made a special contribution to the rural environment within the European Union.

Tregothnan’s entry ‘Bees, Trees and Teas’ was a special look at our work on biodiversity throughout the Estate, preserving the countryside’s cultural heritage through growing tea – having been the very first place in Britain to grow ornamental Camellia’s over 200 years ago and contributing to a sustainable economic development.

The Hon Evelyn Boscawen went to Wolfsburg in Germany to collect the prestigious award.
