The Tregothnan Shepherd Hut
New for 2014 is a spectacular addition to our Wild Escapes holidays – The Tregothnan Shepherd’s Hut. Nestled in the creekside village of Coombe with views over the Fal Estuary, it is perfect for those who want to leave their modern world behind for the ultimate getaway.
Visitors can enjoy the best of both worlds by sharing the cottage with friends or family whilst relishing their own retreat and absolute privacy in the hut. A traditional shepherd’s hut from the outside and an indulgent retreat inside. Within this bespoke craftsman-built shelter is a romantic bed alcove with a double bed, kitchen and dining area.
Our shepherd’s huts have been designed and built to exacting standards by Tony Brown, who has lived on the Tregothnan Estate for many years. His business came into being purely by chance; when his partner Carole said that it would be nice to have a shepherd’s hut to practice playing her music in, Tony decided that he would build her one himself. With no plans but memories from the film Far From The Madding Crowd, Tony built Carole the most beautiful hideaway. We would now like to share our special sanctuaries which reflect times gone by.
