Tregothnan Charity Garden Open Weekend a great success!

31st March 2011

The sun shone, and the people came out in droves. It could only be our annual charity fundraiser...

And what a weekend it was! With all proceeds benefitting local Cornish charity The Cornwall Community Foundation there was something for the whole family to enjoy as they strolled through acres of glorious botanical gardens. The ponds beyond Himalayan Valley were a particularly popular spot, due in no small part to the unseasonably (and un-forcast!) warm weather.
Following our New Year Flower Count that saw us start the year with the fewest flowering species in living memory, our famous Camellias, Magnolias and Rhododendrons didn't let us down when it mattered and provided a spectacular display of colour. Of course there was only one fitting reward after a long stroll through the gardens, and that was a delicious cream tea or homebaked pasty in the historic clock tower. Divine! See Tregothnan on Flickr for some shots of the garden, or send your own images to: rachel@tregothnan.com
Thank you to all our garden guests, volunteers and to Atlantic FM who covered the whole event. We hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did and we look forward to seeing you at next year's event.
