This weekend’s festivals

1st November 2012

The Tea and Coffee Festival: Southbank Centre, London, Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th November

As well as a range of stalls showcasing the highest quality tea, coffee and related products, there will be a plethora of exciting free activities. Jonathon Jones will be hosting a talk and tea tasting session on Saturday at 3pm about why it’s time for men to appreciate the social aspects of sharing a cuppa as well as sharing some muscular brews that chaps will find stimulating. Come on guys – tea has been too girly for its own good! Then at 6pm he will team up with the wonderful Henrietta Lovell from Rare Tea Company to attempt to blow the lid off the way tea has been misrepresented for generations - how our national drink has been demeaned, trivialised and devalued. Expect some stirring talk and some impassioned de-bunking! More info here.

Cornwall Food and Drink Festival: Brunel's Old Station, Bristol, Saturday 3rd - Sunday 4th November

Join Andy and Duncan from Tregothnan at this inaugural event which highlights just why Cornwall has such a reputation as a culinary hotspot and a destination for food lovers from far and wide. Featuring the county’s top food and drinks producers and an incredible host of admired chefs, plus much more, the event will bring the true flavour of Cornwall to the city. We will be selling a whole host of estate-grown goodies and serving delectable cream teas with freshly baked scones, Rodda's clotted cream, and our unique Kea plum jam. Tickets are just £5 available here.
